"I've been working towards this my entire life," Colleen Ryan says.  "Make me smile, make me cry, break my heart or make me fall in love with you... I'll write a song about it.  From an early age, poetry has always been a therapeutic outlet for me.  When I began teaching myself how to play the guitar I finally found a way to turn my poems into songs.  I've written and recorded countless tracks over the years and I am so thrilled to finally be sharing my music with you."

 

Colleen draws her musical inspiration from artists spanning multiple genres.  She grew up listening to classic rock, such as the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.  Her vocal inspirations include timeless artists such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Janis Joplin.  Colleen's voice exudes raw soul and passion and she draws off her personal life experiences to ensure that every lyric she sings tells a true story.

 

Colleen says, "I like to write abstract lyrics that many people can relate to... I don't ever want to be confined to one genre.  My main goal is to always stay true to myself and share who I am as a person through my music... and I, like many others, am constantly growing."
